PROJECT INFORMATION

Representing a €600 million investment in mission-critical digital infrastructure, this initial 28,000-square-meter facility—situated on a massive 200-hectare site—is designed to meet elite global data processing demands. Slated for operational readiness in 2026, the hyperscale campus requires flawless, hyper-precise engineering to support its advanced cooling arrays and extensive server networks. Draftech was appointed to assume control of the project's BIM management and technical coordination, bridging the gap between schematic design intent and highly efficient physical installation.

WHAT WE DID

Acting as the specialist BIM consulting partner, Draftech took total ownership of the technical management pipeline. We led the transition of the multi-disciplinary models from Stage 3 schematic design to fully coordinated Stage 4 construction coordinates. Our team systematically replaced generic placeholders with exact, supplier-sanctioned equipment specifications, injecting high-fidelity metadata and accurately sizing all services. By running advanced, predictive clash detection, we eliminated severe constructability issues before a single service was laid on site.

Pushing beyond standard coordination, Draftech spearheaded the Stage 5 deliverables by engineering a highly optimized off-site manufacturing strategy. We generated over 1,500 precision, fabrication-ready module and general arrangement drawings, distributing these assets directly to fabrication workshops and field teams. By overseeing the entire BIM lifecycle, we established a rigorously controlled data environment that guaranteed pristine, constructible drawing packs were released to the site precisely on schedule.

OVERCOME CHALLENGES

Upon Draftech's onboarding, the project was suffering from severe technical inertia. The existing coordination pipeline was plagued by continuous drawing delays, a fractured communication structure, and a critical absence of regular multi-disciplinary coordination meetings. This lack of structural alignment threatened to stall the facility's aggressive 2026 deadline.

To instantly restore project momentum, Draftech instituted a strict, standardized technical governance framework. We developed and deployed a comprehensive suite of benchmark drawings and locked Revit templates, establishing a universal quality standard that empowered the broader detailing team to immediately produce high-tier documentation. To eradicate persistent drawing errors, we engineered automated workflows within our Integrated Development Environment (IDE), ensuring QA issues were tracked and resolved with maximum efficiency. Finally, Draftech instituted and chaired mandatory, high-frequency coordination meetings with all project stakeholders, dissolving communication silos and successfully steering the hyperscale facility back onto its critical path.
